A designator for Vicinity or Proximity used in aviation weather reports, such as METARs, to indicate weather phenomena observed between 5 and 10 statute miles of the airport's reference point. It is used with descriptors for precipitation, thunderstorms, or other conditions like fog (VCFG) or showers (VCSH). The VC code alerts pilots and ground personnel to weather conditions nearby that are not occurring directly at the airfield but could affect operations.
