Care, custody, or control (CCC)

A common exclusion in liability insurance policies, stating that coverage does not apply to property that is in the insured's care, custody, or control. This exclusion prevents a general liability policy from acting as property insurance for items belonging to others. Specialized coverages, such as bailee's coverage or motor truck cargo insurance, are needed for such property.
