Contractors all risks insurance (CAR)

A type of project-specific insurance that covers physical loss or damage to contract works, construction plant, and equipment during a construction project. Contractors all risks (CAR) insurance also includes coverage for third-party liability for bodily injury or property damage arising from the construction activities. The policy is typically taken out jointly by the contractor and the project owner, and it expires upon completion of the project.
