Creeping expropriation

A series of incremental governmental actions that, over time, effectively deprive an investor of the economic use or control of their assets, without a formal act of nationalization. These actions can include excessive taxation, regulatory changes, or restrictions on operations. Political risk insurance policies often provide coverage for losses arising from this type of indirect expropriation.
