Cumulative injury

An injury or illness that develops gradually over an extended period due to repetitive exposure to harmful conditions or repeated microtraumas, rather than a single, sudden event. This concept is particularly relevant in workers' compensation claims, where the date of injury can be difficult to pinpoint. Examples include carpal tunnel syndrome or hearing loss from prolonged noise exposure.
