Exclusive agency system

A distribution model where agents, known as captive agents, represent and sell insurance products for a single insurer or a group of affiliated insurers. These agents are independent contractors but are contractually obligated to work exclusively for one company. The insurer provides administrative support, training, and an established brand, and in return, retains ownership of the policy expirations and client lists.
