Exclusion

A provision within an insurance policy that specifies certain perils, property, or circumstances for which coverage is not provided. Exclusions limit the scope of the insurer's liability and are designed to prevent coverage for uninsurable risks, catastrophic events, or moral hazards. Common examples include war, nuclear hazard, or intentional acts.
