Fortuitous event

An unforeseen and unintended occurrence that causes loss or damage, forming the basis for a valid insurance claim. It must be accidental in nature and beyond the control of the insured, distinguishing it from losses that are certain to occur or are intentionally caused. Insurance policies are designed to cover losses arising from such events, not from predictable or deliberate actions.
