Freight broker

An intermediary who connects shippers with carriers to arrange for the transportation of goods. Freight brokers do not own the vehicles or directly transport the cargo but facilitate the logistics and negotiation between parties. They typically earn a commission on the freight charges and must be licensed by regulatory bodies such as the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
