Loss payout curve

A graphical representation illustrating the cumulative percentage of total incurred losses that are paid out over time for a specific group of claims. This curve shows the speed at which claims are settled and payments are made, from the initial reporting to the ultimate resolution. Actuaries use loss payout curves to project future cash flows and establish appropriate loss reserves.
