Medical fee schedule

A state-mandated list of maximum allowable reimbursement amounts for medical services and procedures provided to injured workers under a workers' compensation claim. Insurers use this schedule to determine the payment for treatments, from office visits to surgical procedures, controlling medical costs within the system. Each state that uses a fee schedule develops its own set of codes and corresponding maximum prices, often based on Medicare's Resource-Based Relative Value Scale.
