Net level premium reserve

The portion of a life insurance premium that, along with interest earnings, is accumulated to meet future policy obligations, calculated using actuarial assumptions for mortality and interest. It represents the difference between the present value of future benefits and the present value of future net premiums. This reserve is a liability on the insurer's balance sheet and is subject to state regulatory requirements.
