Unearned premium reserve (UEPR) (UPR)

A liability account on an insurer's balance sheet representing the portion of premiums paid by policyholders for coverage that has not yet been provided. This reserve reflects the insurer's obligation to provide future coverage or to refund premiums if the policy is canceled. It is calculated pro rata over the policy period, with the unearned portion decreasing daily.
