Party walls

A wall shared by two adjoining properties, standing on the boundary line between them, where each owner has rights and responsibilities for its maintenance. In property insurance, coverage for a party wall addresses damage to the shared structure, with policies specifying how costs are allocated between the property owners' respective insurers. This allocation is governed by the party wall agreement or local property law.
