Savings bank life insurance

Life insurance sold directly to the public through mutual savings banks, rather than through agents or brokers. This system was established to provide low-cost insurance options by eliminating sales commissions and reducing administrative overhead. Savings Bank Life Insurance (SBLI) is available only in a few states, including Massachusetts, New York, and Connecticut, where it is regulated by state banking and insurance departments.
