This level of care is ordered by a physician and involves services like intravenous injections, wound care, physical therapy, and management of medical equipment. For Medicare coverage, a patient must have a qualifying hospital stay of at least three consecutive days and be admitted to the skilled nursing facility within 30 days of discharge.
