Bankruptcy trustee

An individual appointed by the U.S. Trustee or bankruptcy court to administer a bankruptcy estate, representing the interests of the creditors. The trustee's duties include collecting and liquidating the debtor's non-exempt assets and distributing the proceeds to creditors. They also investigate the debtor's financial affairs.
