Automated export system (AES)

The electronic platform used by the U.S. Census Bureau for collecting export data and enforcing U.S. export laws. Exporters or their agents submit Electronic Export Information (EEI) through this system for most shipments valued over a certain threshold or requiring an export license. The AES replaced the paper Shipper's Export Declaration (SED) form.
