Composite forecast chart
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004555
A single weather map that displays multiple meteorological variables or fields simultaneously, often from a numerical weather prediction model. These charts combine different types of data, such as sea level pressure, wind vectors, and precipitation forecasts, to provide a synthesized view of expected weather conditions. A common example overlays 500-hPa height contours with color-coded vorticity fields to diagnose upper-level dynamics.
