Pilot chart

A nautical chart published for major ocean basins that provides climatological data on meteorological and oceanographic conditions for a specific month. These charts display information on average wind speed and direction, storm tracks, ocean currents, wave heights, sea surface temperature, and ice limits. Mariners use pilot charts for long-range voyage planning to select the most favorable routes based on historical weather and sea state data.
