River surface temperature

The temperature of the water at or near the surface of a river. This measurement influences local atmospheric conditions, such as the formation of steam fog, and provides data for hydrological and ecological models. River surface temperature is measured using in-situ thermometers on buoys or bridges, or remotely via infrared sensors on satellites and aircraft.
