Diesel fuel

A complex mixture of hydrocarbons with a boiling range between approximately 350 and 650 F. Diesel fuel is composed primarily of paraffins and naphthenic compounds that auto-ignite from the heat of compression in a diesel engine. Diesel is used primarily by heavy-duty road vehicles, construction equipment, locomotives, and by marine and stationary engines.
