In silico

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005739

Relating to experiments or research conducted using computer modeling or simulation, as opposed to in a living organism (in vivo) or in laboratory glassware (in vitro). This computational approach is used in toxicology to predict the properties and biological effects of chemicals without animal testing. Examples include quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) models and molecular docking simulations.
