Quality
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009730
The degree to which a set of inherent characteristics of an object, such as a product, process, or measurement, fulfills a set of specified requirements. The term is not used as a synonym for excellence but as a relative concept dependent on the stated or implied needs. For an analytical result, quality is determined by its fitness for the intended purpose, which is defined by requirements for properties like trueness and precision.
