Qualitative elemental specificity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009729
The ability of an analytical method to detect and identify a specific element in a sample without interference from other elements present. This characteristic indicates how uniquely an element's signal can be distinguished from the background or signals of co-existing species. A method with high qualitative elemental specificity provides clear and unambiguous identification of the target element.
