Analytical selectivity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000558
The ability of an analytical method to accurately measure a specific analyte in a complex sample matrix without interference from other components. This characteristic indicates how well the method distinguishes the target substance from co-existing species. High selectivity is often achieved through specific reagents, separation techniques, or detection principles.
