Immunochemical specificity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005658
The ability of an antibody to bind exclusively or preferentially to a particular antigen or epitope, discriminating against other structurally similar molecules. This property arises from the unique three-dimensional structure of the antibody's binding site, which complements the shape and chemical features of its target. High immunochemical specificity is a prerequisite for accurate and reliable immunoassay results.
