Epitope
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004042
The specific region of an antigen that is recognized and bound by an antibody or T-cell receptor. This molecular determinant is typically a small sequence of amino acids or a specific three-dimensional structure on the antigen's surface. The binding of an antibody to its complementary epitope initiates an immune response.
