Epitope mapping
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004043
A technique used to identify the specific amino acid residues or carbohydrate structures on an antigen that are recognized by an antibody or T-cell receptor. This process involves systematically analyzing the binding interactions between an antibody and different fragments or modified versions of its target antigen. Common methods include peptide scanning, X-ray crystallography, and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.
