Biorecognition

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001316

The specific interaction between biological molecules, such as an antibody binding to an antigen, or an enzyme interacting with its substrate. This molecular recognition event forms the basis for many biosensing applications. The specificity of biorecognition is determined by the complementary shapes and chemical properties of the interacting molecules.
