X-ray fluorescence analysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012758
An analytical technique used for elemental analysis of materials by measuring the characteristic X-rays emitted from a sample after excitation by a primary X-ray source. Each element in the sample emits X-rays at unique energies, allowing for qualitative and quantitative determination of its elemental composition. This non-destructive method is widely applied in geology, environmental science, and materials characterization.
