X-ray fluorescence microscopy
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012759
A non-destructive analytical technique that uses focused X-ray beams to induce characteristic X-ray fluorescence from a sample, mapping the elemental composition with high spatial resolution. The emitted fluorescence X-rays are detected and their energies and intensities are used to identify and quantify elements present. This method can achieve spatial resolutions down to tens of nanometers.
