Scanning proton microscopy

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010551

A microanalytical technique that uses a finely focused beam of high-energy protons to probe the elemental composition and distribution within a sample. The protons induce characteristic X-ray emissions or nuclear reactions, which are detected to create a two-dimensional map of the sample. This method offers high spatial resolution and sensitivity for trace element analysis, often in biological or material science applications.
