Particle induced X-ray emission analysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008505
An analytical technique that uses a beam of energetic charged particles, such as protons, to excite atoms in a sample, causing them to emit characteristic X-rays. The energy and intensity of these X-rays are then measured to identify and quantify the elemental composition of the sample. This method is non-destructive and provides high sensitivity for trace elements.
