Digital signature

A mathematical scheme for verifying the authenticity and integrity of digital messages or documents. It provides assurance to the recipient that the message was created by a known sender and has not been altered in transit. Digital signatures rely on public-key cryptography, where a private key signs the data and a corresponding public key verifies it.
