IMAP

Internet Message Access Protocol, a standard protocol for accessing email from a server. It allows users to view and manage email messages directly on the mail server, rather than downloading them to a local device. IMAP supports multiple clients accessing the same mailbox simultaneously and maintaining message status across devices.
