Image scaling
Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-000575
The process of resizing a digital image, either enlarging it (upscaling) or reducing it (downscaling), while attempting to maintain its visual quality. Algorithms like nearest-neighbor, bilinear, or bicubic interpolation are used to calculate the pixel values for the new dimensions. Downscaling generally produces better results than upscaling, which can introduce blurriness or pixelation.
