A client-server software program that runs in a web browser, accessed over a network such as the internet. Unlike traditional desktop applications, web applications do not need to be installed on the user's local machine. They are built using web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the front end, and server-side languages like Python or Java for the back end.
