1. For a given function, a pair of distinct input values that yield the same output value.

2. An event in which two different messages have the same message digest.

3. In a given context, the equality of two values, usually out of a large number of possible values.

4. An instance of duplicate sample values occurring in a dataset.

5. Two or more distinct inputs produce the same output. Also see hash function.
