Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)

1. The Lightweight Directory Access Protocol, or LDAP, is a directory access protocol. In this document, LDAP refers to the protocol defined by RFC 1777, which is also known as LDAP V2. LDAP V2 describes unauthenticated retrieval mechanisms.
