1. A name assigned through a formal process by a federal department or agency to a federal employee for the purpose of the employee’s protection (i.e., the employee might be placed at risk if their actual name were known) or for other purposes.

2. A subscriber name that has been chosen by the subscriber that is not verified as meaningful by identity proofing.

3. An assigned identity that is used to protect an individual’s true identity.

4. personal identifier that is different from the normally used personal identifier.

5. A name other than a legal name.
