1. A substance, such as mold, that can cause an allergic reaction.
2. A substance that causes an allergic reaction in individuals sensitive to it.
3. A substance, such as pollen, mold, and dust mites, that causes allergies.
4. A substance capable of causing an allergic reaction because of an individual's sensitivity to that substance.
5. A chemical or biological substance (e.g., pollen, animal dander, or house dust mite proteins) that induces an allergic state or reaction, characterized by hypersensitivity. A substance that induces allergic reaction.
6. A substance that elicits an allergic reaction.
7. A substance that causes an allergic response. Examples include pollen, molds, and certain foods.
