Biodiesel
Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-003163
1. A type of biofuel typically made from soybean, canola, or other vegetable oils; animal fats; or recycled grease. Biodiesel can be blended with regular diesel fuel and used in most diesel engines. Some engines can also be modified to run on pure biodiesel.
2. A mono-alkyl ester derived from biomass and conforming to ASTM D6751-11b, Standard Specification for Biodiesel Fuel Blend Stock (B100) for Middle Distillate Fuels (incorporated by reference, see § 63.14).
3. Mono-akyl ester derived from biomass and conforming to ASTM D6751-08, Standard Specification for Biodiesel Fuel Blend Stock (B100) for Middle Distillate Fuels.
4. Mono-alkyl ester that meets ASTM D 6751 (incorporated by reference, see § 80.1468).
5. A biodegradable transportation fuel for use in diesel engines that is produced through the transesterfication of organically derived oils or fats. It may be used either as a replacement for or as a component of diesel fuel.
6. A diesel fuel composed of mono-alkyl esters made from nonpetroleum feedstocks.
7. Mono-alkyl ester that meets ASTM D6751 (incorporated by reference, see § 80.12).
