1. A statistical method of resampling data use to estimate variance and bias of an estimator and provide confidence intervals for parameters.

2. A statistical technique based on multiple resampling with replacement of the sample values or resampling of estimated distributions of the sample values that is used to calculate confidence limits or perform statistical tests for complex situations or where the distribution of an estimate or test statistic cannot be assumed.
