check-valve tubing pump

Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-004704

1. A water sampling tool consisting of plastic tubing with a check valve attached to the bottom. Oscillation of the tubing moves water up through it. The check valve prevents water from draining out of the tubing when it is withdrawn from the well. In this way, the tubing acts like a long, skinny bailer.

2. Water sampling tool.
