1. A committee, task force, or board comprised of citizens affected by a hazardous waste site. CAGs provide a public forum for community members to present and discuss their needs and concerns about the decision-making process at sites affecting them.
2. A group formed to provide a public forum for community members to present and discuss their needs and concerns related to the Superfund decision-making process. A CAG serves as the focal point for the exchange of information among the local community, EPA, State regulatory agency, and other pertinent Federal agencies involved in the cleanup of a Superfund site.
3. A Superfund Community Advisory Group (CAG) is a committee, task force or board made up of residents of a community with Superfund or other environmental problems. The Community Advisory Group enhances public participation in the cleanup process and other environmental decision-making by providing a public forum where community representatives can discuss their diverse interests, needs and concerns.
