Constant-Speed Engine Operation
Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-006231
1. Engine operation with a governor that automatically controls the operator demand to maintain engine speed, even under changing load. Governors do not always maintain speed exactly constant. Typically speed can decrease (0.1 to 10) % below the speed at zero load, such that the minimum speed occurs near the engine's point of maximum power. (Note: An engine with an adjustable governor setting may be considered to operate at constant speed, subject to our approval. For such engines, the governor setting is considered an adjustable parameter.)
2. Meaning given in 40 CFR 1065.1001. [40 CFR 1039.801 (CFR 2013)][40 CFR 1042.901 (CFR 2013)]
