Contaminant of Potential Ecological Concern

Any contaminant that is shown to pose possible ecological risk to a site. A Contaminant of Potential Ecological Concern (COPEC) or Contaminant of Potential Concern (COPC) is generally a contaminant which may or may not be causing risk or adverse effects to the plants and animals at a site.
