Corn Starch Ethanol

Refers to the raw material from which the ethanol is made. Corn starch ethanol can be made by either a dry or wet milling process. In the dry process the entire corn kernel is ground, slurried with water, cooked, and enzymes are added to hydrolyze the starch and yeast to ferment the sugars. The resulting ethanol is distilled off.
