Cumulative exposure

1. The sum of exposures of an organism to a pollutant over a period of time.
2. The summation of exposures of an organism to a chemical over a period of time.
3. Exposure via mixtures of contaminants both indoors and outdoors. Exposure may also occur through more than one pathway. New directions in risk assessments in U.S. EPA put more emphasis on total exposures via multiple pathways.
